Student Delegate Program

Student Delegate Program

Veronique L. Thompson, Ph.D.
NCSPP Student Delegate Program Coordinator

NCSPP supports student participation at its annual mid-winter conference through the appropriation of funding for the student delegate program.

Each year and as outlined in the schedule below, eight member programs are eligible to send one student to the mid-winter conference. NCSPP waives registration fees for eight students from these designated member programs as well as grants a fellowship of $800 per student. The institution of the designated program then subsidizes the costs over and above this amount for the student to attend the conference.

At the conclusion of the mid-winter conference, a drawing is held to randomly select a student to return for the midwinter conference the following year. This returning student allows there to be continuity between student delegate cohorts. A returning student and runner-up are selected, and if neither student is able to attend, the remaining student names are systematically entered into a random drawing for a suitable selection of a returning student.
