The 2027 NCSPP Mid-Winter Conference will be held in Long Beach, CA from January 18th–21st, 2027.
The theme, Bridging Futures and Increasing Sustainability, is intentional.
It is reflected in the visual identity of the conference, because symbols matter,
especially during moments of transition.
The bridge within the logo represents our collective commitment to connecting where we have been
with where we are going—honoring the wisdom of NCSPP’s legacy while actively building what comes next.
At its foundation is the sea turtle, symbolizing wisdom, longevity, and resilience.
It reflects the depth of knowledge, ethical grounding, and sustained advocacy that have carried
this organization for five decades.
The dolphin represents joy, energy, curiosity, and connection.
It embodies freedom to explore and adapt, and it serves as a bridge between past and future—reminding us
that sustainability is not only about endurance, but about vitality, collaboration, and forward movement.
Above them, the seabirds symbolize hope and transformation.
They reflect our responsibility to look ahead, to imagine new possibilities, and to create a sustainable
future for psychology that remains responsive to the communities we serve.
Together, these elements reflect who we are as an organization: grounded in wisdom, energized by connection,
guided by hope, and committed to bridging futures through inclusion, advocacy, and action.
This will be an action-oriented conference where we will collectively, as educators, administrators,
and advocates across the stakeholders, define who we are, what we do, and how we do it to protect the
profession of psychology and reimagine how we educate, train, and practice to sustain our profession
in an inclusive, equitable manner.
Disability inclusion and intersectional justice are not side conversations; they are central strategies
for sustainability.
Our goal is to release the call for proposals in March, with decisions communicated prior to the
2026 Summer Meeting.
We will include incentives for proposals that intentionally mentor new faculty into presentation roles.
Early notification will also support program-level budgeting and travel planning—because financial planning
is itself a key component of sustainability.
And yes, we hope this creates space for partners, families, and support networks to join us as well.
Thank you for allowing me to serve NCSPP during this critical point in our history.
I am here to listen, leverage, and lead with compassion, audacity, and integrity for the advancement
of our programs, field, and communities.
See you all in Long Beach in 2027!
In partnership,
Alette Coble-Temple, PsyD
