COVID-19 Information

Message from the President

Dear NCSPP Community,

Our universities are all concerned about the evolving situation regarding COVID-19 and it is critical that we come together as a community to offer support to our faculty, staff, students and training sites. The Executive Committee has provided a statement that will serve as guiding principles for our membership in responding to COVID-19 (see statement below).  We continue to closely monitor the situation and APA and other resources and responses related to COVID-19 are provided for our on our website.

NCSPP understands that many of our member programs are at different levels of announcement and policy development related to how Coronavirus may impact clinical training. We want to thank our colleagues who have begun this conversation online and NCSPP supports continuing to engage in this discussion on the NCSPP listservs as a forum to continue to share information.  Members can also share their training resources by logging on to our site.

NCSPP also supports encouraging students to follow the University’s instruction regarding classes at their home university or program, as well as to follow CDC and county health department recommendations regarding symptoms. While we are committed to the continuity of education, training and patient care, we strongly encourage a balanced approach to making decisions that prioritize your safety.

As mental health practitioners, we will be faced with mitigating the anxieties of our students, staff, and clients.

We hope you find the resources on this site helpful and we invite you to contribute to our fund of knowledge as we navigate our response to COVID-19 together.

Please take good care and reach out if you have any concerns, updates or news to share.

Sincerely,

Fran
